In 2017, Leroy made his feature film debut with BLACK SCAR BLUES, a film he wrote, produced, directed, edited, and starred as lead in. BLACK SCAR BLUES screened at multiple film festivals across the country as well as overseas, earning awards for Best Actor (Leroy Nguyen) at the L.A. Neo-Noir Film & Script International Film Festival and An Anti-Hero Production Genre Fest (where it also won Best Martial Arts Feature Film), and Best Action Sequence at The Urban Action Showcase International Film Festival & Expo. The film is currently available on Amazon, Google Play, iTunes, VUDU, YouTube, and The PlayStation Store, and is being distributed by INDIE RIGHTS MOVIES.
RISING TIGER FILMS is a multiple award-winning independent film-production team based in the Washington DC/Northern VA/MD area. Founded in December 2003 by Leroy and his cousin Ron Suriyopas, RTF has since made the indie-film world take notice with their hard-hitting, brutally grounded fight scenes and gritty, expressionist storytelling.
With the goal of achieving honest expression through their art, RTF has found both success and controversy. Regardless of what the mainstream thinks, Rising Tiger Films will "always do the damn thing their own damn way."
