My latest and greatest. I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to my friends who served as both cast and crew on this one. Four years it took us, start to finish. Sure, some rough spots here and there. I wish I spent more time on the action scenes, as nothing quite reaches what Ed and I achieved in our final fight from Black Scar Blues (2017). I also don't think the writing is as strong as Silverback (2020). But what it may lack (slightly) in those aspects, it knocks it out of the fucking park in everything else.
This was the easiest film I've ever made too. There was no confusion, no reaching to make things somehow connect, no complaining. Yeah, it still took a LONG time to finish, but my friends stuck with me the entire way, giving me their confidence, trust, talent, and time. My wife gave me her love and her patience (and she was my ride for most of the shoots). I can never repay any of them for that.
This is the closest I've ever gotten to truly making the film that I wanted to make, with little to no compromise. And if this is as good as it gets for me, then I'll take it.
