I don't exactly remember the specifics for this one. I wrote the script YEARS ago, probably around 2010-2012, but I had the idea for doing a "romaction-comedy" (I literally just made that shit up while writing this) a few years prior to that. I touch on this briefly in my blurb on the One Last Rumble (2009) page, but with this film I wanted to go back to a better time in, I guess you could say, short-form digital independent filmmaking. Back when you didn't need to crowdfund or "cultivate your audience" or "grow your brand". You used to be able to just get your friends together and make something for fun, without having to worry about your "clout". I don't care what anyone tells you, but it ain't fucking like that anymore. Thank you social media for all your contributions to society.
Anyways, I finally got around to making this in 2018 with my friends Joey, Steph, and Angela from Art School Dropouts in Jersey. It was a hectic shoot for me. They like to plan everything beforehand and be as prepared as possible to ensure everything goes efficiently. I don't work like that. I like having the time to feel the energy in the scene and just kind of jam with everyone when we all get on the same wavelength. So there was a lot of hesitation and just general "unsureness" on my part. Luckily, they got me through the 3-day shoot. But because I was working from an old script and working a style I wasn't familiar with (anymore), I just couldn't connect with it. And that's why it took so long for me to finish and release it. But here it is. Rock you like a hurricane.
